Hybrid charge controller for a 1000W wind turbine and up to 600W of solar
One regulator, one battery bank, two energy sources. This wind-solar hybrid controller manages a turbine up to 1000W and a PV array up to 300W at 24V or 600W at 48V, with MPPT boost tracking on the wind input so the turbine keeps charging at rotor speeds where a simple PWM unit would still be idle.

What the display actually tells you
Wind input voltage, current, power, rotor speed, unloading current and cumulative generation; PV input voltage, current, power and generation; battery voltage, charge current, total charged capacity and state. That is enough data to diagnose a badly sited turbine without extra monitoring hardware.
Protection set
- Overspeed and over-current protection on the turbine input, with induction lightning protection
- Reverse-polarity protection on the PV input — the panels survive a wrong connection and work normally once corrected
- Battery over-voltage and under-voltage cut-off with automatic recovery thresholds
- Selectable output modes: light control, time control, dawn mode and reverse direction
Sizing guidance
Match the controller to peak turbine output, not nameplate power. A 1000W turbine can exceed 1000W in gusts, and headroom is what keeps the regulator alive. Keep the run between turbine and controller as short as practical: long thin cable costs you more energy than any tracking algorithm can recover.

Frequently asked questions
Can I run only solar, without a turbine connected?
Yes, the PV input works independently, but the unit is optimised as a hybrid regulator — for a solar-only system a dedicated PV MPPT is usually the better buy.
Is the dump load included?
Unloading is built into the controller; the external dump-load resistor bank dimensions are listed in the specification table.
Does it work at 12V?
No. This model supports 24V and 48V battery banks only.
Can I log data to a computer?
Yes, over the standard RS232 port; RS485 and short-range wireless are available as options.
Is it suitable for outdoor mounting?
It is IP41 with a three-protection conformal-coated board — install it sheltered from direct rain.
How long does delivery take?
Five to fifteen business days.
